In triangle PQR, if line PR = 3cm and QR = 2cm. Find the length of PQ.

Given:

  • PR = 3cm
  • QR= 2cm

To find:

  • Length of PQ

Solution :

PQR is a right angled triangle

Therefore, according to Pythagoras theorem;

Square of length of hypotenuse = Sum of squares of the other two sides

So,

c² = a² + b²

PQ² = PR² + QR²

PQ² = 3² + 2²

PQ² = 9 + 4

PQ² = 13

PQ = √13

>> Length of PQ = √13
