In triangle PQR, PQ = 13, QR = 14, and PR = 15. Let M be the midpoint of QR. Find PM.

hey mate !

using herons formula

semi perimeter of triangle PQR = ( 13+14+15 )/2 = 21

herons formula = √s (s-a) (s-b) (s-c)

so √21 (8) (7) (6) calculate

= 2×2×3×7 = 84 = area ----- 1

another formula of area = 1/2 × base× height ----2

equate 1 and 2

( base= 14 ) ATQ

1/2 * 14 * height = 84

height = 12

half of height = pm( as midpoint = m )   {ATQ}

so.....

{ pm = 6   answer }
