area of a triangle = 1/2 bh

12=1/2*6*h

h=12/3

h=4cm

PO is the height of the triangle

height is perpendicular to its base.

therefor ewe get two right angled triangles, POR and POQ

by applying Pythagoras theorem in both the triangles as follows

trianglePOR

hypotenuse^2 = base^2 + altitude^2

PR^2=3^2 + 4^2

PR^2=12+16

         =25

PR= root25

PR=5cm

similarly in triangle POQ

PQ = 5cm

therefore PQR is and isosceles triangle where PQ=PR=5cm
