ANSWER:

The length side of BC = 14 cm.

STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION:

∆ABD:-

Let the length of side BD be x.

By using Pythagoras Theorem,

 {(ab)}^{2}  =  {(ad)}^{2}  +  {( bd)}^{2}

 {(13)}^{2}  =  {(12)}^{2}  +  {(x)}^{2}

169 = 144 +  {x}^{2}

169 - 144 =  {x}^{2}

25 =  {x}^{2}

 \sqrt{25}  = x = 5cm

∆ACD:-

Let the length of side DC be y.

By using Pythagoras Theorem,

(ac)^{2} =(ad)^{2} +(dc)^{2}

(15)^{2} =(12)^{2} +(y)^{2}

225 = 144 +y^{2}

225-144=y^{2}

81=y^{2}

\sqrt{81} =y=9cm

Since, BC = BD + DC

                = 5cm + 9cm

                = 14cm.
