Solution :-

Let the third side of the ∆ so formed is x cm.

Case 1) :-

• Sum of any two sides of a triangle is always greater than the third side.

So,

→ x < 7 + 2.6

→ x < 9.6 cm.

Case 2) :-

• Difference between any two sides of a triangle is always smaller than the third side.

So,

→ x > (7 - 2.6)

→ x > 4.4 .

Therefore,

→ Third side = 4.4 < x < 9.6 .

Hence, The range of third side is 4.4cm < x cm < 9.6cm.
