Solution :-
→ 235 * 99
now, since 99 is 1 less than 100 , it can be written as (100 - 1) ,
So,
→ 235 * (100 - 1)
→ 235 * 100 - 235 * 1
→ 23500 - 235
→ 23265 (Ans.)
Another way :- { Little bit long }
→ 235 * 99
→ 235 * 11 * 9
→ (235 * 11) * 9
Using vedic rule of multiply by 11 :-
- write non 11 number two times = (235 + 235)
- Adding 0 to the left side of the number = (2350)
- Add both the numbers = 2350 + 235 = 2585 .
now,
→ 2585 * 9
Here either we can write 9 as (10 - 1) or we can use vedic rule of multiply by 9 :-
- Left side part :- Number - number formed by ignoring unit place digit - 1 = (2585 - 258 - 1) = 2326 .
- Right side part :- unit place digit * 9 = taking unit digit only = 45 = unit digit 5 .
therefore,
→ 2585 * 9
→ 23265 (Ans.)
