Subject - Growing insecurity for women and children
Dear Sir
We all are grieved to read about the news of abuse of women and children in the various part of our country. Despite the law aginst abuse such cases are increasing. The victims, as a result, are forced to live a traumatized life and some of them can never come over it. Looking at this situation, the dire need for self-defense is felt.
The educational institutions and the NCERT need to take concrete steps to start training the techniques of self-defense at the school level only. Programs like martial arts, Taekwondo, and Judo should be made mandatory in the school curriculum. If they are able to defend themselves at the moments of crisis, many mishaps can be averted.
I would request the authorities concerned to take necessary steps in order to protect the self-respect and dignity of every individual,
Thank you
Yours truly

Subject: The Need of Self-Defence Training for Women and Children.
Dear Sir:
I write to your good self to express my deep concern over the ever increasing crime rate against women and children in particular, and the need to do something in this regard promptly. According to the crime rate data published by Indian Government, 36735 incidents of rape; 77237 incidents of kidnapping and abduction were registered. Keeping in view the past trends, it is certain that their number must have gone further up.
We can’t just stand aside and look at the miserable condition of safety of our children and women! Undoubtedly, the Government is trying its best to counter this crime rate, however, we as the responsible citizens must also do our part in this fight against crime. One of the best counter measures is self defence. As the wise people say, ‘Prevention is better than cure’, we must take preventive measures. We must equip our children and women with self-defence skills. They should be given training in judo, karate or any similar self-defence technique.
Schools can play a vital role in this regard by making self-defence learning compulsory at schools. The physical education period can be utilized for the same. Through the medium of your esteemed daily, I appeal to the parents, people, and the concerned authorities to look into the matter and do something concrete in this regard. I hope you will assist me in conveying my message to the concerned parties. Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Gibran
