3 June 2017 The Editor The Times of India New Delhi Subject - Growing insecurity for women and children Dear Sir We all are grieved to read about the news of abuse of women and children in the various part of our country. Despite the law aginst abuse such cases are increasing. The victims, as a result, are forced to live a traumatized life and some of them can never come over it. Looking at this situation, the dire need for self-defense is felt. The educational institutions and the NCERT need to take concrete steps to start training the techniques of self-defense at the school level only. Programs like martial arts, Taekwondo, and Judo should be made mandatory in the school curriculum. If they are able to defend themselves at the moments of crisis, many mishaps can be averted. I would request the authorities concerned to take necessary steps in order to protect the self-respect and dignity of every individual, Thank you
