in water turbine, water is supplied at the rate of 500litre/ second under a head of 20 m and it is discharged from turbine at a velocity of 2 meter/second, determine power developed by turbine.​

Mass of water lifted, m=Vρ

where V is Volume of water and ρ is density of water

V=500l=0.5m

and ρ=1000kg/m

3

m=0.5×1000=500 kg

h=50 m

Work done in moving water to a height 50m is W=mgh
