In what direction does the buoyant force on an object imerged in a liquid act?

the buoyant force or upthrust acts on the upward direction..

What actually happens is gravitational force forces the object downwards.But there is a pressure difference applied upward and bottom.The upward force is more greater than the downward force.

So the buoyant force always acts in upward direction.
