Oxygen is mostly found in the form of O2.

Because of the oxygen’s valency (-2), it combines with another oxygen atom to be stable.

In noble gases, the configuration is stable, and it is not necessary for them to combine with other atoms.

Therefore, noble gases exist as single atom such He, Li, etc. in nature.

  1. Oxygen gas occurs as O2 in nature. This is because the valency of Oxygen is (-2) so, it combines with another atoms to be stable.
  2. Noble gases exist as single atomic in nature. This is because they are already stable and their shell is complete so they do not need to combine with another atoms. For e.g.. He , Li etc.
