the gas is stored in liquid form under pressure in a steel container, cylinder or tank. The pressure inside the container will depend on the type of LPG  and the outside temperature.

LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas it is compressed under high pressure (property -change of stage due to pressure )becomes liquid .it is done like this so that a lot amount of lpg can be stored in one cylinder and to avoid immediate lekage cos gases move very fast so they will escape from the cylinder with a greater speed which increases the chance of the burst of cylinder.
