The three movements that took place during 1916-1918 Gandhiji are:

  • Champaran Satyagraha (1917)
  • Ahmedabad Satyagraha (1918)
  • Kheda Satyagraha (1918)

Champaran Satyagraha:

Raj Kumar Shukla of Bihar persuaded Gandhiji to study the conditions of indigo plantation workers in Champaran, Bihar. Tinkatiya system was prevalent in which part of land should be cultivated for indigo.

Ahmedabad Satyagraha:

It was mill-workers satyagraha against the mill owners for not paying wages. Gandhiji asked workers to demand a 35% increment in wages.

Kheda Satyagraha:

Farmers were affected by crop failure and the plague epidemic. The peasants were demanding a revenue collection release. Gandhiji helped farmers unite against this disparity .
