Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

Sugar of price ₹ 12/kg : sugar of price ₹ 12/kg = 1 : 4

● Explanation -

Let x and y amount of sugar of price Rs 12 per kg and Rs 7 per kg respectively.

Average price of mixture is -

8 = (12x+7y) / (x+y)

8x + 8y = 12x + 7y

12x - 8x = 8y - 7y

4x = y

x/y = 1/4

Hence, grocer should mix the sugar of Rs 12 per kg and Rs 7 per kg in proportion of 1 : 4.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
