(-6,10). B = (3,-8)

P = point of division = ( -4,6)

Let it divide in ratio m1:m2

Then,

X coordinate of P = (m1 times X coordinate of B + m2 times X coordinate of A) divided by m1+ m2

ie., -4 = (m1.3+m2.(-6))/(m1+m2)

ie.,. -4m1-4m2 = 3m1–6m2

ie.,. 2m2 = 7m1

ie., m1/m2 = 2/7

m1: m2 = 2:7

I hope this helps
