FORMULA TO USE - x =mx2 + nx2/m+n or
- y =my2 + ny2/m+n
Here,
x=-4
y=6
x1=-6
y1=10
x2=3
y2=-8
Let us use the first formula
-4 = 3m-6n/m+n
-4m-4n = 3m-6n
-4n+6n = 3m+4m
2n = 7m
2/7= m/n
m:n=2:7
ANS:- The point divides the line the ratio 2:7
