Step-by-step explanation:

let the required ratio be k : 1

A(-4,-6) , B (-1,7) ,find ratio and value of x. in the figure given above

by section formula

c(x,y) =kx2 +1(x1) , ky2+ 1(y1)

k+1. k +1.

c(x,0) =-1k-4 , 7k -6

k+1. k+1

x,y = x,y

y = y

0=7 k -6

k+1

0(k+1) =7k-6

0=7 k-6

6=7 k

6 =k

7

therfore required ratio is 6:7

x =x

x= -1k -4

k+1

x = -1 (6/7)-4

(6/7) +1

x= -6 -28/7

6+7 /7. ( l.c.m)

x = -34 /13
