Answer:

Let A(2,-3) B(5,6) and the dividing point,say P(X,y)= (X,0)

let the ratio be K:1

P(X,y) = ( ( mx2+nx1)/m+n , ( my2+ny1)/m+n)

here, m=k, n=1, X1=2, X2=5, y1= -3, y2=6

(X,0) = ((5k+2)/k+1 , (6k-3)/k+1 )

equating the y ordinates

0= (6k-3)/k+1

0 = 6k-3

3=6k

k= 1/2

coordinates is ( (5(1/2)+2)/(1/2)+1 , 0)

( (9/2)/(3/2) , 0)

(3,0)
