In what ratio the line-segment joining the points (3,-1) and (1,2) is divided by the line x-y-2=0 ans

Let the line segment be divided in ratio k:1 and point of intersection be P(x,y)
Now by section formula, 
P(x,y)=[k+3/k+1 , 2k-1/k+1]
substitute the values of x=k+3/k+1 and y=2k-1/k+1 in equation x-y-2=0
k+3+2k-1/k+1=2
3k+2=2k+2
3k-2k=2-2
k=0
Hence the line does not intersect the line segment.
