Hydrogen has many properties similar to that of alkali metals and halogens.
However,
As alkali metals,
1. Hydrogen is not a metal.
2. Hydrogen does not originally exist in solid state, whereas all alkali metals are solid.
3. Hydrogen is diatomic, whereas alkali metals are monoatomic.
As halogens,
1. Hydrogen is not so strong a non metal (as mostly it loses electrons).
2. Hydrogen is less reactive than all halogens.
