Roughage                                            

1 They largely consists of fibre.                        

2 They have negligible or low levels of nutrients.      

3 For example: green fodder, hay, silage, legumes, etc.


 Concentrates

1   They have low-fibre content.          

2 They have high levels of  protein and other nutrients.

3  For example: cotton seeds, oil cakes, etc
