UNDP(United Nations development programme) measures countries on the basis of life expectancy,gross enrollment ratio, literacy rate, educational status,health status, infanct mortality rate and average income of the country this gives a proper measure of the development in that country and does not hides disparities.

World bank uses the average income of the country to measure the development.

average income of country=

 \frac{total  \: income \: of \: country}{total \: population}

this is not an adequate measure of development of the country because it hides disparities by not showing the rich or poor people and does not reflect what are the facilities available in that country.

hope it will help ^_^
