Yes, animals have likes or dislikes based on other parameters like age, body confirmation, etc. We cant say that all men are born equal, but they do not grow equal. All are born unequally (they have different genetic constitution) and they grow also unequally (they have different environment). So, Phenotype=Genotype+Environment...
Also, it is not correct to mention that animals are non-thinking species. Human have made the animals like that now we are going for artificial insemination in most of the intensive livestock production, then where is the choice of animal comes.
