Answer:

Lightning is extremely dangerous and can strike anytime a cold front, low pressure center or even a powerful snowstorm is in the area. The dangers increase if you are in a flat area like a beach and or if you are near a high object like a tree that can transmit the lightning down from a tree to the person nearby.

The danger to tall buildings can be reduced by placing a lightning conductor on them. If lightning strikes the building, it flows harmlessly to the earth through the conductor.

Answer:

clouds can charge tall buildings by induction. the buildings thus acquire the opposite charge. if the build-up charge is very heavy, a heavy flow of electric charge can occur between the cloud and the building. this can be very dangerous and can result in building catching fire because of the huge amount of energy released. to protect tall buildings from damage by lightning, a lightning conductor is fixed on them. if lightning strike the building, it flows harmlessly to the earth through the metal rod, and no damage is done to the building.

I hope you are satisfied with the answer.
