QUESTION --- in what time will a sum double itself at 4% per annum at simple interest?

ANSWER -----

Let the Principal be x
Amount is given to be 2x

Simple Interest = Amount - Principal
Simple Interest = x

WE KNOW,

TIME = (SI × 100) / ( P × R )

T = x × 100 / x × 4
T = 100x / 4x

x will cancel out

T = 100/4
T = 25 years
