The time is 10 years.

Explanation:

Principal(p) = Rs 2000

Rate of interest(r) = 20%

Amount = Rs (2000×3)

             = Rs 6000

S.I. = Rs (6000-2000)

     = Rs 4000

Let, the time be,'t' years.

We know that,

S.I. = (p×r×t)/100

∴ According to the problem,

4000 = (2000×20×t)/100

⇒ 4000× 100 = 2000×20×t

⇒ t = (4000×100)/(2000×20)

⇒ t = 2×5

⇒ t = 10 years.

∴ It will take 10 years to make the sum triple of itself.

 \underline \mathbb{QUESTION}

》In what time will rupess 2000 triple itself if the rate of intesrest is 20% per annum ?

 \underline \mathbb{SOLUTION}

 \underline \mathbb{GIVEN}

Principal(p) = Rs.2000

Rate of interest = 20%

THEN,

 \underline \mathbb{ATQ}

Amount = Rs. (2000×3)

= Rs. 6000

 =  > simple \: interest  = ( 6000 - 2000)

 =  > rs \: 4000

Let time be 't' years.

 \underline \mathbb{SINCE}

 =  > si =  \frac{p \times r \times t}{100}

 \underline \mathbb{THEN\:ATQ}

 =  > 4000 =  \frac{2000 \times 20 \times t}{100}

 =  > 4000 \times 100 = 2000 \times 20 \times t

 =  > t =  \frac{4000 \times 100}{2000  \times 20}

 =  > t = 10 \: years

HENCE,

》IT WILL TAKE 10 YEARS TO MAKE INTEREST TRIPLE.
