Aerobic respiration is simply breathing. When you exercise, your breathing rate increases to compensate for the increased need of oxygen that is required by your muscles. When you exhale, you expel carbon dioxide, the by-product of used oxygen.

Our muscle performs both aerobic and anaerobic respiration during exercise.

Explanation:

  • During simple exercise and during severe exercise of the regular athlete there is is aerobic respiration.
  • However when we perform severe exercise why people who are not used to it the oxygen content of the muscle cells decreases due to less amount of myoglobin present in the muscles.
  • Due to this reason lactic acid is produced in the muscle cell. This results in fatigue of the muscle due to over production of lactic acid and gives pain.
