The American Revolution had an impact on the Indian

Constitution. Most of our fundamental rights are similar to the rights

mentioned in the Bill of Rights. They are right to religion, speech, assembly,

press, and petition. Similarly, the right to the due process of law, and

freedom from self-incrimination have also been included.

The ideals of democracy, federalism, and republic adopted by

our Constitution were also derived from it to some extent.
