It was best known for all the achievements that were made in architecture, literature, philosophy, exploration, sculpture, music, science and painting.

Italy made its name as the European leader in all the mentioned areas by the end of the 15th century.

It was also the period of the Peace of Lodi from 1454 to 1494 that was agreed between all Italian states.

The Italian Renaissance reached its peak during the mid-16th century.

After this, foreign invasions and domestic disputes gripped the area into the turmoil of the infamous Italian Wars.
