In what way does HIV affect the body that would explain the correlation with tuberculosis?

HIV-AIDS virus affects and damages our body by attaching to the CD4 cells .The virus then infects the cells and uses them as a place to multiply in doing so the viruses destroys the ability of the infected  ells to their job in immune system so if we have a small infection,cough or cold or fever it can change into a life taking disease
