Social media has its own merits and demerits. When it affects personal life, there is damage in both professional and academic.

• It impacts one's self-esteem and drags one's confidence to the low bottom.
• It results in losing time and therefore, misbalance between work and personal life.

I believe social media has had a significant impact on my life, most notably by allowing me to make friends with people I might not have otherwise encountered. Making it even simpler to stay in touch with faraway old friends.

I found it less realistic to make new friends on a personal level. Because it's incredibly simple to form friendships supported by online contact. When we look online, in our jammies, with our own snacks and drinks, we discover that hosting is not necessary.

The world around us and, by extension, how other people see it, are both impacted by the influence of all media. Many of us are capable of differentiating between what is being displayed and what is being shown to us and what actually exists. Many people blindly follow orders, ignorant that many of our opinions are formed by others and not by ourselves.
