The secularism in United States and India differ in various forms.
In United States if people make fun of any other religion then those people don't bother about it rather in India if you make any fun of people or any religion a chaos is created among them this is the most important view from my side and you will get more idea if you go through various newsletters.
It is more related to the effect of racism in the two countries.
India experiences internal diversity whereas United States experiences external diversity. Therefore, secularism in the two countries are being challenged heavily by racism.
However, people in United States don't pay much heed to racism and have a very strong mentality.
