• Santhals used to produce additional commercial crops for food production such as cotton.
• The British authorities gave control of settlements to the Santhal people.
• The Santhal people used to prepare the land for farming only after cutting the forest.
• The Santhals never attacked against permanent farmers. They were expanding sustainable agriculture.
• The Santhals used to trade their crops from these classes.
