Answer:

Hey buddy!

DVD Storage Capacity

DVDs can store more data than CDs for a few reasons:

Higher-density data storage

Less overhead, more area

Multi-layer storage

Higher Density Data Storage

Single-sided, single-layer DVDs can store about seven times more data than CDs. A large part of this increase comes from the pits and tracks being smaller on DVDs.

Track Pitch

CD = 1600 nanometers

DVD = 740 nanometers

Minimum Pit Length (single-layer DVD)

CD = 830 nanometers

DVD = 400 nanometers

Minimum Pit Length (double-layer DVD)

CD = 830 nanometers

DVD = 440 nanometers

Explanation:

DVD is more useful than CD because the storage of DVDs about 7 times more data than CDs. This is because the data in DVDs is packed more tightly than that in a CD. In simple way we can say this is happens due to the fact that DVD drive operates at a higher frequency than a CD drive.its one of the reason is that CD contain the polycarbonate substrate on only a single side while in DVDs it present on both of the sides.

The CD and DVD are the optical recording medium where CD was devised as an audio storage format while DVD is used as the universal storage format.

Generally speaking, DVD players can play DVDs and CDs which CD players cannot play DVDs. So, most CD albums can be played on a standard DVD player. Because of this, CD is still widely used on music albums since it can store an entire music album and the cost is much lower.
