Resources, calamities and disasters are only meaningful only in relation to human beings as humans have the ability to exploit the resources and create something useful. Without us land and water have no use. Similarly in case of calamities and disasters, no one will care until any human is affected. These are only natural processes but as they affect us they are known as disasters.
