In what ways are the adaptations of reptiles to land similar to the adaptations of plants to land?

Well both of them had to deal with a more arid climate then their /without doubt/ very wet seas.

For example wind made them dry out on land!

So both had covered bodies with proctetive layers against drying out. Plants had so called cuticula, a wax layer on their leaves and reptiles have scales.
