Following changes were made by British after the revolt of 1857 space.

The power of this East India company was transferred to the British crown for better management of Indian affairs.

The governor general of India was given the title of viceroy i,e a personal representative.

All the ruling chief were assured that they could pass on their kingdoms to their heirs including adopted son birthday had to acknowledge the British Queen as a Paramount.

It was decided to proportion of Indian soldiers in the army would be reduced and the number of European soldier would be increased.

The British decided to respect the customs, religion and soldier practices of people of India.
