In what ways did the harsh rule of the Assyrians work against them?

  • Inflicting pain, beating even cutting off nose or ear was common phenomena.  
  • Even indulging into low talk or vulgarity was a punishable act.
  • Death sentence was easily implemented in various occasion like rape, adultery etc. A world of 2600 BC to 609 BC probably was not ready for such brutal punishments. T
  • Though the fall of this empire has some other significant reasons, the impact of harsh rules on common man can’t be denied as well.
