In what ways do you think the Mughal Panchayats were similar to or different from present day Gram Panchayat ?

Panchayat - Panchayat may be defined as a group or village council.

There are few differences or similarity between the Gram Panchayat at the present day and the Mughal Panchayat during the time of Mughal Dynasty.

The similarities between them are both the panchayat solve problems within the small community in which they had control.

The difference between them are:

Mughal Panchayat consists of a Diwan , Mir Bakhshi , Mir Saman  and Sadr to solve problems and form organization of the government.

Whereas, Gram Panchayat consists of 4-5 members of the village and a panchayat head known as Sarpanch.
