Aristotle was one of the most famous philosophers of all time and his work is mentioned even today.

These main genres had further subsets or sub genres.

Epic: This sort of poetry had narratives. It consisted of a central plot. It had multiple characters who was narrated by the poet and it used a one-verse form.

Tragedy/tragic: This was about being serious, this was expressed in action not narrative, it showed emotion of pity and fear as affecting.

Comedy: Representation of human beings in a laughable manner, treating this in contrast to tragedy.

Dithyrambic: It showed the performance of festivals honoring the God "Dionysus". Poetry showing song and dance.

Phallic songs: They developed in early forms during comedy's development. They also are included in joyous dances, for rituals and festivities.
