Media plays a crucial role in a democracy. It emphasise on public opinions, puts them forwards to others, especially the government. It also criticizes the ruling party and also shows their works which is healthy for a democracy. Media also spreads information about government plans, and also news about the country and abroad.
Currently, it is all clear that media fails to fulfill its motive. Media is now apparently independent, but in reality, it's under the government's control. Hence, transparency and justification of media is untrustworthy.
Recently, we came across with the Citizenship Amendment Act. Media whose job is to put forward what the public is demanding, why there is nationwide protest, is actually showing what the government wants to. For instance, it is trying to get advantage on Non Muslims, and supresses the fact that actually most Non Muslims' citizenship would come under danger. Media is not showing the possible consequences of this act, but is trying to show the "all positives" of the act, which doesn't even exist.
