The main difference between Pataliputra and Mohenjodaro was buildings.
Mohenjodaro people used burnt bricks which were interlocked for long duration was missing in Pataliputra constructions

mohenjodaro: This city was founded as a well planned city with proper drainage system, grain storage area, houses were made of mortars bricks or mud bricks when excavated in Pakistan.
Patliputra: It was a city capital of Ashoka empire. This whole city was walled and have 570 tower and 64 gates. Houses were made from mud bricks or wood.
