i living organisms such as human beings and other mammal's oxygen and movement is required for respiration.This is known as aerobic respiration. during respiration in mammals oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide and energy is given out due to this respiration is known as an EXOTHERMIC reaction. respiration is used in the body of organisms for the breakdown of the six carbon molecule GLUCOSE into pyruvate which further breaks down into lactic acid and energy.
respiration is also neede for the further breakdown of food molecules for deriving nutrition
