Wanda Petronski was a poor Polish migrant living in America. She lived in a place called Boggins Heights where many poor people lived. Due to this, she was hesitant to interact with her classmates. She wore a faded blue dress to school everyday which was clean but shabby.
Her classmates, on the other hand came from affluent families who never missed an opportunity to tease Wanda. Wanda never reacted and quietly honed her drawing skills.
So we can say that Wanda was a poor, kind, calm, quiet and forgiving girl.
