The cases for which we use the "Add funds to this deposit" are

  1. When an employee reimburses the company.
  2. When you receive a tax refund from the IRS
  3. To record the payment of a vendor bill.

ACH payment does need to use "Add funds to this deposit" because it is an electronic transaction directly to the bank.
