- For example, the USSR's role in communist Poland and of the US in contemporary Iraq. In this case the actual powers were with some outside/external powers and not with the locally elected representatives.
- Another example, is when General Musharraf had led a military coup and had overthrown the democratically elected govt. declared himself the President . Here the power to take all final decision was with the army officials and none of these officials were elected by the nation's people.
