In which colour of light is the rate of photosynthesis is minimum and why?

ANSWER:

In green colored light the rate of photosynthesis is very low. When green colored light is projected to leaf no photosynthesis process take place and no product is formed.  

EXPLANATION:

The product is formed in the photosynthesis through the transformation of light energy to chemical energy. The chlorophyll absorbs the light pigment and converts it to food.  

The chlorophyll A absorbs red colored light and the chlorophyll B absorbs blue colored light. Hence, there is no pigment which can absorb green color for the transformation of light energy to chemical energy.
