When a ray of light emerges out of a prism, it bends towards the base.
- A glass prism consists of two triangular surfaces and three rectangular ones. When a ray of light is incident on its surface, it gets refracted twice.
- At first, the path of light gets deviated when entering the prism and then it again suffers deviation when coming out of the prism.
- The emergent ray is found to be bending towards the basal surface of the prism.
- White light gets split into its constituent colors i.e. VIBGYOR on refraction through prism.
