Chandrashekhar Azad was born to  father Pandit Sita Ram Tiwari and mother Jagrani Devi on 23rd  1906 in Bhavra village in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh. His birth name was Chandra Shekhar Tiwari.   He did his early schooling in Bhavra and for higher studies he attended Sanskrit Pathashala in Varanasi.He shot himself in the head with his last bullet after being badly injured during the fight with the policemen and upheld his vow never to be captured by the British.
