In the year 1984, the government of Karnataka used farmers land to grow Eucalyptus for their set up Karnataka Plywood Limited. To pretest against this the local farmers started a movement called Kittiko Hachiko (Meaning Pluck and Plant), so they plucked the eucalyptus and planted the seeds which were useful to them.
